Inner Theater

Think about an issue in your life…

a tree blowing in a violent thunderstorm with lightning
a dark forest thick with trees
a small figure standing at the edge of a huge rocky cliff with a steep drop

Do any of the images above express how this issue feels inside you?

Are you under a dark cloud or in the midst of a storm? Do you feel lost in a forest with no way out? Or at the edge of a cliff? And if these don’t speak to you, what inner landscape and weather would you imagine? What does it feel like when you think of your issue? What comes to mind?

If You Know EFT

  • Try tapping with the image as your main focus. Something like, “Even though this issue is a dark cloud over me…I accept myself and how I feel” (or your favorite phrase for the setup).
  • Then “this dark cloud over me, this dark cloud over me…” as you tap the points. Keep it simple and repetitive and see what happens.
  • The image may change slightly or you may perceive more details. You may see or sense something beyond the initial image, as if the scene has broadened and there’s a shift to a different perspective. Just tap a few more times for whatever is arising.
  • It may seem that nothing changes and even then, you have acknowledged your subconscious and have given it your attention for a few moments. This alone can make a difference in your mood and emotions.
  • If you find you really relate to your image, it may stay with you and lead to insights or even solutions for the issue when you least expect it. Trust the process!
When you are working with a guide, there will be questions that help the process unfold. And I very much believe that having a witness and a companion on the journey make a big difference. You can read the Inner Theater stories below to get an idea of how it all works in a session, both self-guided and with a guide.
